Number one, your chiropractor have to be a graduate of a four year course. Then they will be undergoing four years of study for the training itself. Second, your chiropractor will need to undergo a program like apprenticeship. They can develop their practical skills and put their knowledge to good use. They will be under strict supervision of licensed chiropractors and will be dealing with real patients either in hospital or clinic settings. This is, most of the time already a part of their school program. The chiropractic schools are usually in partnership with hospitals and clinics who have chiropractic departments. Third, your chiropractor will need to pass a board exam. Like all the rest of the medical field they need to be board certified and licensed to be able to practice. They should be board certified for the following: Orthopedics, radiology, Nutrition, Sports Medicine, Family Practice, and Rehabilitation and many others. They are also like medical doctors and need to get the basic information for proper diagnosis. A patient’s medical history, neurological tests, orthopedic examinations and medical history are just some of the things that they need. They will even ask for a laboratory exams.
